Compared to last week: Slaughter lambs recovered this week trading mostly
10.00 to 20.00 higher, with instances of 40.00 to 50.00 higher on Choice 1-2 types. Feeder lambs steady 2.00 to 8.00 higher on a light test. Slaughter ewes steady to 5.00 lower. Slaughter bucks firm on a light test. Slaughter kids also recovered this week with kids under 50 pounds trading 1.00 to 5.00 higher and kids over 50 pounds 10.00 to 20.00 higher. Nannies steady to weak. Not enough comparable sales on billies for and adequate market trend. Increased buyer demand was noted on wethers, as they traded mostly 20.00 to 40.00 higher.
Trading activity was active on good demand. In the sheep supply about 53 percent slaughter ewes and bucks, 33 percent slaughter lambs, 14 percent feeder lambs. The goat supply consisted of 65 percent kids, 25 percent nannies, and the balance billies and wethers. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.
