North Dakota Farm Bureau Week

March 11-17, 2012 is North Dakota Farm Bureau Week. The theme for this year’s event is “I Am Agriculture.”

In honor of our theme NDFB held an “I am agriculture” photo essay contest on Facebook. The goal of the contest was to get people thinking about what agriculture means to them. Look for a winner during Farm Bureau Week.

Once again Farm Bureau Week will feature the Safety Picture Contest for third, fourth and fifth grade students. The contest helps build safety awareness. The top 10 winners will be announced during Farm Bureau Week, and all will receive prizes with the first place drawing receiving the grand prize.

Counties have come up with many great ideas for promoting agriculture during FB week. They are doing picture contests, ads and billboards, and safety messages shared in local schools. Some counties are even sending out DVD’s to schools talking about where our food comes from.
Others are holding ag days to educate the community about agriculture.

NDFB is also encouraging members to utilize one of the many Farm Bureau benefits at your local Sam’s club during NDFB Week. Sam’s Club is holding an open house all week from 7am to 7pm and members are eligible for a $25 gift card at all North Dakota Sam’s Club locations.

North Dakota Farm Bureau is the most effective general farm and ranch organization in the state of North Dakota, with more than 27,000 members and 50 organized county Farm Bureaus.
