Compared to last Monday: Steer calves under 550 lbs sold 10.00 to 20.00 lower, 550-650 lb calves steady to 3.00 lower, over 650 lbs steady to 3.00 higher. Heifer calves under 550 lbs sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower, 550-700 lb calves 2.00 to 5.00 higher, over 700 lbs mostly steady. Trading activity and demand was mostly moderate. High quality, long weaned calves were still in demand; however, with fewer cattle on consignment today, buyers were less active than the previous week. In the feeder supply, steers comprised 60 percent of the supply and heifers 40 percent. Cattle weighing over 600 lbs consisted of 47 percent of the total supply.
