Compared to last week: A much higher undertone was noted, but no price trend analysis was available due to limited comparable sales from the previous week.
Quality was much more attractive this week with several large consignments yearling steers weighing over 800 pounds, and yearling heifers weighing over 700 pounds on hand. Accordingly, prices reflected quality improvements. Slaughter cows 1.00 to 3.00 higher, with a limited test on slaughter bulls. Slaughter cows made up 10 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls less than 1 percent, replacement cows less than 1 percent and 88 percent feeders. Feeder supply consisted of 64 percent feeder steers and bulls, 35 percent feeder heifers.
Approximately 64 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
