Compared to last week: No price trend comparison is available due to limited receipts as a result of the previous weeks winter storms. However, a much higher undertone was noted on both feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows sold 1.00-2.00 higher, with a limited test on slaughter bulls. Demand good.
Quality was much more attractive this week, allowing price advancements to be recognized on both feeders and cows. Slaughter cows made up 12 percent of the offering, replacement cows 1 percent, slaughter bulls 1 percent, and 86 percent feeders. Feeder supply consisted of 50 percent feeder steers and bulls, 50 percent feeder heifers. Approximately 30 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
